Fawn Mckay

Fawn Brodie McKay was born on September 15th, 1915, was born within Ogden Utah. Her family was part of the Mormon Church's very first family, Fawn McKay devoted her creative abilities in the field of literature and impressive expertise in researching to produce the brilliant psycho-historical biography of Joseph Smith, published in 1945. It was entitled: No Man knows My History. The title derives from the funeral sermon delivered by Joseph Smith, the creator of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. He shocked his audience by saying: "You don't even know my name. There is no way to know the depths of my soul." My life story isn't known to any one. No one knows my history. Writes the 29-year-old Fawn at the time: Ever since that day of truth, there have been at least three hundred writers who have stepped up to the plate. There have been attempts to portray him as gods while others been accusing him of being an obfuscator. Some have even made a clinical diagnosis. The problem is that the documents do not exist. They're just inconsistent. The process of collating these documents--of sifting first-hand account from second-hand plagiarism and fitting Mormon and non-Mormon accounts into an assemblage that is credible historiography. It is fascinating and informative. Fawn brodie was professional and dedicated to her work. Her work in research and writing brought her fame around the world: Thaddeus Stephens. Scourge Of The Southern (1959) The Devil Drives. Thomas Jefferson. An Intimate Historiography (1974) and posthumously Richard Nixon.
