Fawn Mckay

Fawn Brodie McKay, born 15 September 1915 was raised within Ogden Utah. Reared in the Mormon Church's first family Fawn McKay was able to direct her innovative abilities in the field of literature and impressive abilities in research to create the amazing psycho-historical biographical biography of Joseph Smith, published in 1945 under the title"No Man has My History. That title was taken from a funeral speech delivered by the founder of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844. He shocked people with a statement: You don't know me and you've never known my heart. My past is not known by everyone. Nobody knows my story. I wrote the 29-year old Fawn in that moment of candor about three dozen writers have taken up the gauntlet. Some have attacked him, some even deified him. While a few have tried their hands at diagnosing him clinically. It's not that documents are lacking the issue is that they're fiercely contradictory. It's difficult to manage these papers and to distinguish first-hand stories from those of third-hand sources and put Mormon as well as non Mormon tales into a coherent mosaic. It's both thrilling and educational. FawnBrodie accepted this challenge professionally. Her work in research and writing brought her recognition around the globe: Thaddeus Stephens. The Devil drives (1959). Thomas Jefferson. A Personal Historical Document (1974) and later posthumously Richard Nixon.
