Taylor Swift, the rarest pop star, is one who managed to move from the country genre to mainstream culture, and has become an icon of the pop culture. Swift also took on the entire globe in the process. Swift shed her country roots like they were a second skin revealing that she was possibly the most savvy pop-oriented singer/songwriter of her time, someone who was able to harness the mood of the moment and personalize it and just as impressively perform in the opposite direction. This was evident in her earliest hits especially the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out who she was and in the process finding the mass market. Fearless was a huge success not only in the United States, where six of its singles were certified platinum in the wake of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and Belong with Me. But it also smashed records across all over the world. Swift took off to the peak of stardom after the release of Speak Now. The three albums that followed -- Red 2012, 1989 2014 as well as Reputation 2017, her fame only grew. That was an obvious indicator that Swift had entered the new music scene where she fit in. Although she slowed down her production with folklore, and Evermore released in 2020, she was nevertheless in the forefront of pop music.
