Sheryl Underwood is an American comedian, TV host and performer popular for hosting the popular daytime talk show The Talk. Sheryl was born and raised within Little Rock. Sheryl is part of a clan that has had a lot of issues. She spent the majority of her young life caring for her sister Frankie who was afflicted by an illness called polio. Growing up, she experienced many issues with her mom. Sheryl says that at one instance her mother stabbed her father because he was being too close with her. After her graduation from college, Sheryl became a military officer. Her love for comedy was more pronounced. In 1989, she was the first woman to reach the top in the Miller Lite Comedy Search contest. She began her TV career in 1992 after she made a cameo appearance as a frequent actor for the HBO comedy series Def Comedy Jam. She hosted the television show Oh Drama! in 2000. In 2011, she began participating in The Talk as co-host. She has also played fictional roles in series like Bulworth Nikki and Beauty Shop.
